摘要

We will discuss how stability and speed of normal zone propagation inYBCO-coated conductors is affected by interfacial resistance between thesuperconducting film and the stabilizer. Our numerical simulation has shownthat the increased interfacial resistance substantially increases speed ofnormal zone propagation and decreases the stability margins. Optimization ofthe value of the resistance may lead to a better compromise between stabilityand quench protection requirements than what is found in currently manufacturedcoated conductors.
